How to play
Cosmetics
Cosmetics change how your game and your cards look. That's all they do. Your stats never notice, and neither do the monsters.
The promise: cosmetics are looks only. They never touch stats, stamina, loot or odds, and nothing in a fight, an expedition or a drop ever reads them.
Wearing cosmetics
- In Discord, type
/cosmeticsand press Equip on one you own, or Use the default to go back. - In the Activity or on the web, open the Style tab in town and choose Wear.
- You wear one of each kind at a time. Your choice is saved on your account, so it follows you everywhere.
- Cosmetics belong to your account, not your character, so a death doesn't touch them.
Buying
- Paid cosmetics are bought inside Discord. In
/cosmetics, each one on sale has a Premium button with its price, which opens Discord's own store. Discord handles the payment. - A purchase belongs to your Discord account, so it shows up on the web too, ready to wear. The web itself doesn't sell anything.
- Some cosmetics are free for everyone. Some aren't on sale yet.
- Every cosmetic has a rarity, from common to mythic. It says how special it is, and like everything else here it changes nothing in the game.
Sparks and Stormglass
The cosmetics screen, in Discord and on the web, shows your balance of Sparks and Stormglass. They're cosmetic currencies, meant to be earned by playing and never bought with money. Nothing earns or spends them yet, so for now the balance is just waiting for its moment.
What exists
Themes
The accent colours of your town, combat, loot and death screens.
- Thunder (Common, free): The house colours: slate town, red fights, gold loot, black graves. Free for everyone.
- Ember (Rare): Rust and ember accents on every screen. Looks only. The fire is decorative.
- Tidewater (Rare): Cool blues for people who find red too exciting.
Card styles
The colours of your level, boss and profile cards.
- Gilded (Uncommon): Gold trim on your cards. Tells everyone you paid for gold trim.
- Ashen (Uncommon): Soot-grey cards, straight from Ashsquare. Smells faintly of caldera.
Obituary styles
The colours of your obituary card.
- Candlelit (Rare): Warm candlelight on your obituary card. The candles are doing their best.
Portrait frames
The ring around your portrait on your cards.
- Silver frame (Uncommon): A silver ring around your portrait. Polished weekly by someone else.
- Bone frame (Uncommon): A ring of carved bone. Whose bone is not discussed.
Titles
A line under your name on your profile card.
- The Survivor (Common): A title for people who have survived. So far.
- Regular at the graveyard (Common): A title for the graveyard's best customer. The gravedigger knows your shoe size.
