v0.32.0 patch notes
New players stop being told they're dead. Mostly.
The big one about the first hour. New players get clearer directions, softer first patrols and one death screen instead of two, and anyone can report a bug with `/feedback`. Osric, Sorrel and the announcer recorded 461 new lines. Your first hero will still die, now with better signage.
The first hour
- If the opening road fails to load, you get Try again instead of skipping it and losing the family treasure.
- The opening fight lands its lesson. The squire swings first, as squires were trained to.
- Your first heroes see their starter kit listed on the web too, not only on Discord.
- The hero picker and start card speak to first-time players, and say how other classes join the family.
- The elder's toll shows on Continue, with the skill it needs. Gate tiles suggest a level.
- Discord shows a New in town line once for each feature you unlock, like the app does.
- Vote waits until caches open, since caches are where Sparks go.
- The Stable points at the Incubator once your first egg arrives.
/startwith a living hero opens your town instead of replaying your arrival.
Balance
- Wild boars, forest wolves and goblin scouts around Ashsquare hit slightly softer.
- Paper moth swarms and animated tomes around Cornerfax hit slightly softer.
- Gate bosses, elites and every road past Cornerfax are unchanged.
Happenings
- A server gets at most one happening a day, and only while someone there has played recently.
Fixes
- Email players show as a player on the web in Discord messages, not a broken mention.
- Email accounts no longer see a world boss they could never attack.
- A ban also removes the player from their party.
- Gauntlet events read their lines aloud, like events on the road.
- Gear comparisons read HP 10 (+4) instead of a jumble of numbers.
- Two leftover messages that mentioned
/fightnow point to/town.
